Hi folks. Today we’re going to cover one of my favorite kinds of scavenger hunt – the outdoor kind! There’s nothing quite like getting out amongst nature, and going on an outdoor scavenger hunt is a great way to do it. Learning about the natural world is an important part of kids’ education – plus, anything that gets them away from a screen, right!?
If you’re stuck for ideas on how to create a nature-themed scavenger hunt, then look no further. Here at Found The Treasure, we’re giving away some totally FREE printables you can use to go on your own outdoor scavenger hunt. I’ve created my own list, which you can download to save time. But you can also download the blank template in order to fill out your own nature-themed scavenger hunt items!
Here’s what I came up with on my list:
- A bird
- A branch that fell from a tree
- A bug
- Something with 4 legs
- A leaf that isn’t green
- Some flowers
- Something with more than 6 legs
- A Tree stump
- Something you hadn’t seen before
Some of the items on the list are pretty simple – like finding some flowers or a tree branch. But some of them, like finding something with more than 6 legs – may require a little more exploration of the outside world! So overall, this should be good to keep your loved ones engaged for a while.
You can download the templates as PDF files below, or just save the images above instead. Simply print out these out, and then have fun exploring nature!
